Recycling Education and Outreach

Learn more about Recycling and Sustainability! The SCMUA offers free presentations and tours to schools, civic and business organizations. Contact us at 973-579-6998 to learn more.

• School Visits – Staff from the SCMUA are available to visit your classroom to provide a presentation on what to (and not to) recycle, recycling markets, hot topics in recycling or other environmental topic. Customized for all ages from early elementary school through college.
• Earth Day Event – Hands-on activity stations for 4^th-6^th grade children at the SCMUA’s solid waste or wastewater facilities.
• Community Events – SCMUA staff are available to promote environmental stewardship at your next event. Contact us for availability.
• Solid Waste/Recycling Tours – limited small group tours of the landfill, Residents’ Convenience Area and Recycling Center are available upon request.
