Learn more about Recycling and Sustainability! The SCMUA offers free presentations and tours to schools, civic and business organizations. Contact us at 973-579-6998 to learn more!
- School Presentations – Staff from the SCMUA are available to visit your classroom to provide a presentation on what to (and not to) recycle, sustainability, hot topics in recycling or other environmental topic. Customized for all ages from early elementary school through college. Sammy the Seagull mascot provides additional fun for the younger grades!
- Earth Day Event – Morning and afternoon sessions of hands-on activity stations for 4th-6th grade children at the SCMUA’s solid waste or wastewater facilities. Contact the SCMUA in the fall to reserve a spot for your school. Held the end of April each year.
- Community Events – SCMUA staff are available to promote environmental stewardship at your next event. Contact us for availability.
- Solid Waste/Recycling Tours – limited small group tours of the landfill, Residents’ Convenience Area and Recycling Center are available upon request.
