Household & Bulk Garbage
Residents’ Convenience Area
- To have bagged garbage unloaded by our staff from your vehicle, follow the Bypass lane to the right of the main scales and follow blue arrows to the Residents’ Convenience Area, Bagged Garbage lane. There is a minimum scale charge of $0.50 at the Bagged garbage scale. The disposal rate is $0.15/lb. payable by cash or check only. Also use the bagged garbage lane for any individual items less than 65 lbs. such as car batteries, or grill propane tanks.
- For loads of household garbage greater than 65 lbs. or bulky items such as mattresses or pallets, pull up to the Main Scales to receive a hangtag. Follow blue arrows to the Residents’ Convenience Area. The staff will direct you to a roll-off container for unloading. The rate is $125/ton ($0.0625/lb.) payable by cash, check or credit card. Return to main scale after unloading.
- Contractor Area: For dump trailers only. Proceed to the Main scale house to obtain a hangtag and follow sign to Contractor Area. SCMUA staff will direct unloading. Separately recycle metal, electronics, pallets and cardboard. Disposal Fee: $0.0625/lb. Minimum scale charge $10.00.
