SCMUA Recycling Center Hours of Operation: Monday – Saturday, 7:00 am -2:00 pm

The SCMUA’s Recycling Center for Sussex County residents is located at 34 Route 94S, Lafayette, NJ. After you enter the SCMUA gate, stay in the right lane to bypass the scales and follow Green arrows to the Recycling Center. See below for materials recycled for FREE.

Recycle additional materials for a small fee at the Residents’ Convenience Center, such as car batteries, wood pallets, appliances and rigid plastic. See our Solid Waste page for more info.

Paper & Cardboard

Junk mail, office paper, thin boxes in Mixed Fiber. Cardboard in compactors. Newspapers collected separately.

Motor Oil & Antifreeze

Free recycling. 5-gal limit per person. Pour into the separate collection containers.

NO gasoline, transformer oil, driveway sealer, chemicals, paint or oil tank sludge.

Clothing & Textiles

Clean clothes, shoes, handbags, tablecloths, sheets, comforters, bedspreads & towels.

Sharps Disposal

Place in puncture/leak proof container such as a laundry detergent bottle. Screw on lid and label “Do Not Recycle” and place in trash.
